Heavy snow has disrupted all bus services from Inverness and many Highland routes this morning.

Highland Council blamed untreated roads for the suspension of all services in the region until further notice.

Stagecoach Highland has also suspended all Inverness services, with both operators saying school services were included in the cancellations. D&E Coaches has now done the same.

Most services in the Tain area have also been cancelled, including school services.

A Highland Council spokesman said: “Due to overnight snow and currently untreated roads, all Highland Council bus operations are suspended until further notice.

“Please check with other local operators about their services.

“We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause, but driver and passenger safety is of the utmost importance to us.

“Updates to come.”

A Stagecoach spokeswoman said: “All services from Inverness are suspended until further notice due to road conditions.

“Updates will be provided throughout the day. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.”

Train services to and from Inverness and on the Kyle and Far North Line were reported to be operating as normal.

But users of Inverness Airport have experienced delays with both the Loganair 06:30 Inverness to Manchester and Easyjet 06:35 Inverness to Gatwick services currently delayed.

More updates will follow throughout the morning.
