Detectives with the Redmond Police Department are investigating Wednesday after two burglars broke into and attempted to break into a local cannabis store during a power outage that prevented the stores’ surveillance cameras from capturing them on video.

According to a post on X from the Redmond Washington Police Department, around 4 a.m. officers with the department responded to a report of a burglary in progress at Origins Cannabis at 16390 Cleveland Street.

When officers went to the cannabis store, they spoke to witnesses who said a white Sedan backed into the store and two people, wearing hoodies, ran away.

Police said the car in which the suspects crashed into the store building may have been stolen.

Due to the current power outage, the stores’ surveillance cameras were off.

The suspects remain at large following the incident.

The investigation is ongoing.
