Prince William takes veiled dig at Prince Harry in ‘lonely’ documentary confession | Celebrity News | Showbiz and TV

Prince William’s new ITV documentary will take a look behind the ‘royal persona’ and show how the future monarch aims to end homelessness with his new project – Homewards.

The two-part series will follow the Prince of Wales since he launched his initiative last July, as well as hearing from those who have experienced homelessness.

A homeless service featured in the series called The Passage was instrumental in William’s early childhood. presented Princess Diana Prince William at the homeless shelter at the age of 11, and now continues his legacy.

The chief executive of The Passage, Mick Clarke, spoke exclusively to Express Online and told why the Prince of Wales is working on this new project.

“Each of us, at different times in our lives, experience some kind of homelessness, times of bereavement, times of depression, times when we don’t know where to turn,” he said.

“And what gets us through those moments are our friends, our family, our support networks.

“So the documentary shows that people actually need those support networks around them and by everyone working together, whether it’s charities or government, it’s a societal issue that needs of a societal solution”.

Before her death, Princess Diana was a patron of Centrepoint, which is another homeless charity that William works closely with. Moreover, he became a patron in 2005 and continued to work to eradicate homelessness.

During a clip in the documentary, Prince William answered questions about his privilege and the end of homelessness as he has multiple homes and more than £20m from the Duchy of Cornwall.

“Why else would I be here? If I don’t use this role properly to influence and help people where I can?” he said. “It’s a big challenge. And I like a big challenge, I like that, but I can’t do it alone.”

The series will focus on six key locations: Aberdeen, Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole, Lambeth, Newport, Northern Ireland and Sheffield.

Prince William has been the official patron of The Passage since 2019 and launched the initiative with the Royal Foundation in June 2023.
