Suspended Memphis animal services director Ty Coleman has been fired from a previous job in Sherman, Texas, after officials there determined he lied to them in an investigation into alleged misconduct, according to personnel records .

Coleman was fired as manager of Sherman Animal Services on July 21, 2020, just a year after he was hired for the $65,000 job in the city about 65 miles north of Dallas, with a population of about 45,000. inhabitants.

Coleman is still earning his $120,000 salary with the city of Memphis despite being suspended in June and facing not only a city but a state investigation.

According to Coleman’s personnel records at Sherman, released this week after a public records request, fellow employees in the animal services department filed a complaint about Coleman with city officials on April 30, 2020.
