WARWICK, RI (WPRI) — One person died and another person was injured in a house fire that broke out early Wednesday morning in Warwick.

Crews who responded to the scene on Holt Street around 12:30 p.m. found the house fully engulfed in flames and learned.

The state fire marshal said three people were inside the home at the time, but only two made it out. A man was found inside and pronounced dead, police said.

A woman was removed from the home and taken to the hospital to be treated for smoke inhalation. It is unclear if the third occupant was injured.

There is no word on what caused the fire at this time.
