Two people have been arrested after a man was assaulted and fireworks were set off at his home.

It happened at an address in the Coney Hill area shortly after 22:00 GMT on October 31, police said.

A group of men armed with a baseball bat were seen lobbing fireworks through a house’s letterbox, shouting at the occupant and punching him in the face, before launching lit fireworks through his windows and fleeing the scene.

Two Gloucester men, aged 26 and 28, have since been arrested on suspicion of aggravated burglary.
