Six people, including five former ministers, were arrested in separate cases filed at different police stations in the capital.

Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Imran Ahammed gave the orders allowing the separate pleas of the investigating officers in the case.

Of the six, the former minister of social welfare, Dr. Dipu Moni, was arrested in a case framed for the killing of Jubo Dal leader Shamim at the capital’s Paltan police station, while former information minister Hasanul Haque Inu and law minister Anisul Huq were arrested in Amir. Hossain murder case filed at Uttara West police station.

Former shipping minister Shajahan Khan and his son former Madaripur Sadar upazila president Asibur Rahman Khan have been arrested in Badda’s Rafikul Islam murder case.

Former law minister Anisul Huq was also shown arrested in the case of attempted murder of BNP activist Hasan Mahmud filed at the capital’s Shahjahanpur police station.

The court also showed former minister of state for industries Kamal Ahmed Majumder arrested in a case filed for the killing of teenager Mizanur Rahman at the capital’s Mirpur model police station.
