Actor Govinda came out on Wednesday to exercise his fundamental right to vote in the 2024 Maharashtra Assembly elections.

Bollywood actor Govinda stepped out in Mumbai to cast his vote Maharashtra Assembly Election 2024.The actor was seen at the designated polling station and after exercising his fundamental right to vote, he was seen inking his finger. He was also seen interacting with paparazzi while posing for pictures. This marks his first public appearance since being discharged from a Mumbai hospital last month following a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

Govinda was seen coming out of the polling booth and was dressed entirely in white. When the paparazzi asked him if he was feeling well now after the accidental shooting incident, Govinda said, “Sab achcha hai (Everything is fine).” He was then seen telling the paps “Arey kaahe chichiya rahe ho”. a month ago Govinda hit the headlines after accidentally shooting himself in the leg with his revolver. He said it was an accident and at first he couldn’t believe it had happened. He was hospitalized for several days before being discharged on October 4. His fans were happy and relieved to see Govinda right after the incident. Commenting on the paparazzi video of him going out to vote, one fan wrote: “Ab to bilkul thk lg rhe h.”

According to Hindustan Times, the actor said the accidental shooting happened when he was cleaning his gun before leaving for the airport. Hindustan Times quoted him as saying, “Initially, I couldn’t believe it had happened. Thoda gehra lag gaya tha, jab laga tab vishwas nahi hua. Aisa laga ke yeh kya hua? (It’s a deep wound and I couldn’t believe it happened. I thought, “What just happened?”) I was getting ready to go to the show…in Kolkata. It was in the morning, around 4.45-5. Woh giri aur chal padi (the revolver fell and misfired). I felt a jhatka (shocked) and when I saw… there was a fountain (of blood).”
