Enforcement Directorate is taking custody of the accused for Uttar Pradesh Constable Recruitment Examination.

The Enforcement Directorate (ED), Lucknow has taken custody of two suspects in a money laundering case related to the alleged Uttar Pradesh police recruitment exam and other tests conducted by the state public service commission in 2023, officials said Tuesday.

The ED took custody of Ravi Attri and Subhash Prakash, lodged in jail after their arrest in April by the UP Police Special Task Force (STF), following an order to this effect issued by the Special Prevention of Money Laundering (PMLA) court in Lucknow in the case of paper leakage.

The charges against Attri and Prakash are that they failed the Uttar Pradesh Police Recruitment Examination and Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission (UPPSC) RO (Reviewing Officer) and Assistant Examining Officer (ARO) examination in 2023.

“They and their associates ‘leaked’ question papers of these exams and generated criminal income by providing these leaked documents to the aspirants before the scheduled date,” an ED statement said. “Arrangements have been made for the candidates to assemble in the resorts of Manesar in Haryana and Rewa in Madhya Pradesh,” it added.

DE also learned that cash credits and deposits were observed in the accused’s bank accounts immediately after the exam notices were issued and up to/after the exam date.
