Chelsea ‘line up’ landmark signing of disgruntled Liverpool star; Reds have “little choice” but to sell

Chelsea are “planning a summer raid” for Liverpool goalkeeper Caoimhin Kelleher, and a report claims the Reds will have “little choice” but to cash in if the price target is met.

Kelleher25 years old, he has proven time and time again that he is far too good to warm the bank Liverpool for much longer. Kelleher never let Liverpool down when he replaced Alisson Becker, although that didn’t stop the Reds undercutting the Irishman.

Liverpool signed Giorgi Mamardashvili last summer before loaning the 24-year-old back to Valencia. Mamardashvili is expected to arrive at Anfield next summer, when Sun. Kelleher State will be relegated to the third pick.

Kelleher has not been shy about expressing his displeasure at being a substitute at Liverpool. He has kept four clean sheets in eight appearances this season, conceding just five goals in that time. Clearly, Kelleher is a player who could and should be a regular starter for a top club at this point in his career.

And according to a new update from Sun.Kelleher could get that chance at Stamford Bridge.

It is claimed Chelsea they lined up a move in the summer of 2025 for Kelleher. Juventus and Napoli are also looking at the goalkeeper, although Kelleher prefers to stay in England.

This gives Chelsea an advantage and, according to the report, Liverpool could set aside their concerns about selling to a powerful domestic rival if their £35m target is met.

Sun. he concluded: “but if Chelsea match the £35m valuation the club have placed on the player, they may have no choice (but to sell).’

What Kelleher said about leaving Liverpool

Speaking in an interview with telegraph in late October, Kelleher doubled down on his earlier claims that he wanted to be a regular starter.

With the presence of Alisson and the imminent arrival of Mamardashvili, it doesn’t seem like it can’t happen at Anfield. Alisson has previously gone on record to state that he he wants to stay at Liverpool long term despite the emerging threat to his position represented by Mamardashvili

“I was pretty clear (last summer) that I wanted to play first-team football, whether it was here or elsewhere. I wanted to be number 1″ Kelleher said. “That was my thought process – but it’s always been my thought process because obviously I’m a footballer and like any player I want to play. I’m not going to have fun or be happy sitting on the bench.

“When I was going through the academy to improve, obviously when you get to 2nd place for the first time, you’re happy and it’s progress. I think with anything after a while, maybe after you’ve done a few seasons of a similar thing, you want to keep moving forward and go to the next level.

“I played a lot of games and showed my level. The next step for me is to play week in, week out, every week.”

Chelsea already have close to a dozen goalkeepers on their books, although if they were to move for Kelleher, it would likely come with the understanding that he would be installed as No.1 immediately.

Given Kelleher’s clear desire to be a regular starter, logic would dictate that he would demand guarantees over his playing time before agreeing to join another club.

Latest Liverpool news – Bade, Alexander-Arnold

In other news, reports from Spain have picked up steam about speculative claims about Liverpool close to agreeing a deal to sign Loic Bade from Sevilla in January.

Elsewhere, Liverpool also received major news regarding the future of Trent Alexander-Arnold.

The right-back is another star out of contract next summer and although he is heavily linked with Real Madrid, a strong update claims he will snub the Spanish giants for two reasons and after FSG submitted what was described as a “record deal” to secure his services.
