Swiggy Instamart user claims to receive vegetables under weight; Check details here

A Swiggy Instamart user recently claimed that the vegetables he received weighed much less than what was indicated on the food delivery app. According to a post on Reddit, the user only received 145 grams of cauliflower, despite the app stating the expected weight as 400-600 grams.

In his Reddit post, the user, identified as PsyHil89, shared details about his experience ordering vegetables from the e-commerce platform.

The Reddit user wrote in the post, “This happened to me a month back during Shradh. It was getting late and the vegetables were out of stock at the local vendor, so I decided to try ordering from Instamart. The prices were a bit expensive compared to the local market, but it was urgent, for which I was ready to pay.”

He explained that the noticeably lower weight of the cauliflower raised doubts about the accuracy of the weights for all the vegetables he had ordered. On measuring the other items, he found that most of them weighed less than the amounts listed on Swiggy Instamart.

“Phool gobhi paid Rs 89 for a weight between 400-600 grams but got 145 grams of phool gobi. One of the vegetables (cauliflower) made me check all the others for their weight. Most of the vegetables were underweight,” he wrote.

The user also claimed that he made several attempts to resolve the issue by contacting Swiggy customer support but did not receive any satisfactory response. “Swiggy support were shameless including their escalation team as they were not prepared to replace the items and were trying to play clever words for a partial refund. Finally reported the issue to the government’s Ingram consumer helpline and also mailed my bank to reverse the amount,” the user noted.

Several Reddit users came forward to share similar experiences, with one user writing, “They have a mood of their own. he had ordered 34 rs/ half kilo bananas (already a scam) and received only 368g. they gave a small refund of 15 percent, ie 5 lei, but did not include the handling fee, delivery fee into consideration. Another time I got less than 70g of bok choy instead of 100-150g. got no refund and was told to mail. The response I got was “we can’t verify the problem” when it is clearly weighed into a utensil that is tared at 0 and then the whole bok choy just touches the utensil. And once I was given a completely rotten pumpkin for 134 rs iirc and got 0 refund for everything. I have proof of the first 2 because this incident happened before I was aware that anything could be done about it. I had a lot of problems with the swiggy order. holy shady company.”
