The court heard of several failed attempts to attack a leading criminal lawyer

WESTERN CAPE – The Western Cape High Court has heard details of how several failed assassination attempts were made against criminal lawyer William Booth.

Multiple shots were fired at Booth’s home in April 2020.

He survived unharmed.

The attacks on Booth are part of the trial of Nafiz Modack and 14 co-defendants, who face 122 charges, including murder and attempted murder.

Colonel Eddie Clark told the court that during his investigations he discovered links between Nafiz Modack and the hit on lawyer William Booth in April 2020.

Booth was representing a client who was being intimidated and threatened by one of Modack’s associates – accused number eight, Jacques Cronje.
