Bhopal: A police official’s brother sustained two bullet injuries when they shot each other at the official’s sister’s marriage following a petty dispute over parking in Rewa district. The injured man was rushed to hospital and is now out of danger, police say.
The incident took place around 3 am on Monday in a marriage garden under the Chorhata police station in the district. It was Police Inspector Ram Singh’s sister’s marriage. Singh is posted in Balaghat district but is a resident of Rampur Baghelan area of ​​Satna district.
The injured has been identified as Vikram Singh, cousin brother of police official Ram Singh. “Cars were parked in the parking area. First they parked the vehicles from the groom’s side, and the groom’s vehicle also parked behind him. Several people from the groom’s side were trying to get their vehicle out of the parking lot. when he collided with the vehicle that was parked behind him. This led to a dispute which took an ugly turn and injured bullets were fired, one in the thigh and the other in the lower leg. He was rushed to the hospital, bullets were removed and his condition is out of danger,” said Chorhata police station in-charge Ashish Mishra.
He added: “The accused is from the groom’s side. We have identified some suspects and teams are in the process of arresting them. The statements of the injured and others present there have not yet been recorded.”
