Suspected Lululemon thieves run over cop’s leg

lululemon suspects of theft

Rhode Island police officer’s body camera video shows a traffic stop of suspected Lululemon thieves (Cranston Police Department).

A pair of suspects who allegedly shoplifted Rhode Island Lululemon ran from a police officer during a traffic stop, running over the officer’s leg, the video shows.

According to a press release from the Rhode Island State Police, Cranston police officers responded on June 16 to a shoplifting at the Lululemon store in the Garden City Mall. The suspects, later identified as Michael Campagna and Megan O’Brien, both 24, fled the area in a gray Kia. A Cranston police officer identified by Providence CBS affiliate WPRI as Officer Kayleigh Cooper saw the car stopped in traffic on Reservoir Avenue near the Route 10 ramp.

The video shows Cooper approaching the vehicle and ordering the two to stop and get out. She opens the door.

“What are you doing? What is it about?” Campagna says from the driver’s seat as Cooper continues to tell them to get out of the car. “Madam, what are you doing? Get out of my car.”

O’Brien tells Campagna to “drive” and he steps on the gas and runs away.

“He’s going to hit me! F—,” Cooper screamed.
