iPhone owners are hearing strangers’ conversations on speakerphone due to an unknown bug

At least two reports say that some iPhone owners have started hearing the voices of strangers in their smartphone speakers.

A user wrote further Reddit who initially perceived the strange male voice as the work of one of the background programs – but upon checking, found that none of them were activated in in this case, the owner of the iPhone heard an unknown man tell someone that he had an accident, and two days later the speaker suddenly cursed someone.

Later, it turned out that the problem was not isolated, and users who encountered it suggested that the cause was a bug in iOS 18 that plays the background sound in random order.

However, this may be a privacy bug, and Apple, which has yet to comment on the bug, is aware of it. For example, when iPadOS 18 started bricking devices with the M4, the company remained silent until the problem became widespread.
