An accidental stampede occurred at a high school in Kashgar, Xinjiang on Monday, with injured students being sent to hospital for treatment, according to a report by China Central Television.

The report said that the jamming started when a group of students from Kashgar School 8 were walking from the dormitory building to the classroom building for classes, one student accidentally fell into the stairwell, causing the students behind to fall and resulting in a run away at 15:25.

The injured students were sent to hospital for treatment, it said, without specifying the exact number of injuries.
