A man has been accused of assaulting and sexually assaulting two teenage girls in South Ayrshire.

Police said a 68-year-old man had been arrested and charged following the attacks on Prestwick Road, which runs from Prestwick to Ayr, at around 7.30pm on Saturday.

He was released on a bond to appear in court at a later date.

A statement from Police Scotland said: “A 68-year-old man has been arrested and charged following the alleged assault and sexual assault of two teenage girls on Prestwick Road, Ayr, at around 7.30pm on Saturday 16 November.

“He was released on an undertaking to appear in court at a later date.”
