New York State Buys Dame Dash’s Roc-A-Fella Action

The New York state government bought it Ladies Dashhis one-third share Roc-A-Fella Records in an attempt to recoup the $8.7 million the co-founder owes in back taxes.

New York Post reports that an anonymous representative from Albany made the lenders $1 million during the federal auction, outbidding two other anonymous bidders who nominated their prices at $223.00 and $250,000. However, it remains unclear how the state plans to recoup the millions owed by Dash.

In addition, New York City is also seeking more than $193,000 in unpaid child support from Dash over the past few months, which will be paid out of the auction money.

Attorney Chris Brown, who is representing two people Dash allegedly owes money to, said: “The bidding is over, but the work is not done.” He continued: “Mr. Dash’s legacy is now the property of New York State. I will be working with the State of New York and the City of New York as the next phase of ownership.”

New York City also wrote a letter to the court in closing JAY-Z’s previous ownership claims fish reasonable doubt, one of Roc-A-Fella’s main assets that is supposed to be fully returned to him in 2031. “JAY-Z has issued widely publicized statements warning potential bidders that the copyright will revert to him in 2031,” the letter obtained by All Hip-Hop read. “Those statements are false and extremely prejudicial to the City’s interests in ensuring that the auction will generate sufficient funds to satisfy all existing child support arrearages and ensure future child support payments.”
