A driver has been charged after allegedly traveling nearly double the speed limit in the Kawartha Lakes on Saturday afternoon.

According to an OPP social media post, the driver was clocked at 152 kilometers per hour in a 80 kilometer per hour zone. Police say a Kawartha Lakes OPP officer on patrol stopped the driver on County Road 48 near Balsam Lake.

The driver was charged with stunt driving. Their license was suspended for 30 days and their vehicle was impounded for 14 days.
