“NCIS: Sydney” Season 2 is coming to CBS in January

On November 13, CBS revealed the winter premiere dates for new and returning series, including NCIS: Sydney. Season 2 of the Australian-set drama will begin on Friday, January 31 at 8:00 PM ET/PT.

“Are you ready for this?” asked series star Olivia Swann Instagram after the premiere date was announced.

Friday night slot for the first international NCIS The show is a change from Season 1, when it aired on Tuesday nights. For season 2, NCIS: Sydney will take over SWATtime slot of 20:00. SWAT moves to the 10pm slot previously occupied by blue bloods, which will ends its 14-season run in December.

NCIS: Sydney Season 2 will have 10 episodes. All of the main cast from Season 1 will return, including Swann as NCIS Special Agent Michelle Mackey, Todd Lasance as AFP Sergeant Jim “JD” Dempsey, Sean Sagar as NCIS Special Agent DeShawn Jackson, Tuuli Narkle as AFP Liaison Officer Evie Cooper, Mavournee Hazel as AFP Forensician Bluebird “Blue” Gleeson and William McInnes as AFP Forensic Pathologist Dr. Roy Penrose.

What to Expect from ‘NCIS: Sydney’ Season 2

NCIS: SydneyIts first season ended with the surprising revelation that Department of Defense official Richard Rankin (Lewis Fitz-Gerald) was possibly linked to the plot to kidnap JD’s son. CBS hasn’t released an episode synopsis for the season 2 premiere, but we can expect the show to pick up after that shocking cliffhanger.

We also know that in Season 2, the team will face a strong opponent. As he takes a closer look at Rankin, he discovers “a looming destructive chaos that threatens the stability of the region,” according to a Paramount+ Australia press release.

“The houses are bigger, the locations more exotic, the stakes much higher,” the release teases. “Fully on the line, will NCIS: Sydney triumph against all odds – or be torn to the core?”

“NCIS” and “NCIS: Origins” get midseason premiere dates

CBS also revealed the midseason premiere dates for the other two shows in the NCIS-verse: NCIS and NCIS: Origins.

NCIS Season 22 returns Monday, January 27 at 9:00 PM ET/PT, continuing NCIS: Origins at 10pm ET/PT.

Fans can also look forward to new episodes of other CBS dramas in the new year. FBI, FBI: International, and FBI: Most Wanted return on Tuesday, January 28, starting at 8:00 p.m Matlock and Elizabeth they return on Thursday, January 30 and Land of fire and SWAT resume on January 31.

watson, a new series of medical mysteries, premieres Sunday, February 16, at 9 p.m., followed by equalizer Season 5 in a new time slot from 10 p.m.

NCIS: Sydney Season 1 airs on Paramount+.
