Winchester and Thame services comfort families of road deaths

Two memorial services for people killed in road crashes have given “comfort” to friends and family, a vicar has said.

Reverend Dom Jones, who led a service in Winchester, said people found it “great comfort” to attend and meet other bereaved families.

Hampshire and Isle of Wight Constabulary and Thames Valley Road Policing Unit held two memorial services on Sunday for people who died on the roads of Hampshire, Isle of Wight and Thames Valley.

Gordon and Anne Thick, whose son John died in 1999 on the night before his wedding, said the service gave them a chance to “focus” on him.
