National Sea Rescue Institute (NSRI) says a man’s body has been recovered from the beach near Strandfontein in Cape Town.

NSRI spokesman Craig Lambinon says the body of the man who was reported missing is suspected to be a case linked to what was believed to be a woman missing from the surf at Sunrise Beach.

“The body of a man, identified by family, has been taken into the care of Government Forensic Pathology Services and is believed to be the person who went missing in the surf at Sunrise Beach, near Muizenberg, on Monday.

The police opened an investigation file. Condolences are extended to the family and friends of the deceased man.”
