A woman has been arrested following a hit-and-run that killed one and injured another in Kanawha County Friday night, deputies said.

The crash happened just before 6 p.m. along the 2000 block of Witcher Creek Road when a red SUV struck the two pedestrians and fled the scene, according to a news release from the Kanawha County Sheriff’s Department.

Deputies found the suspect, Kiesha Miller, 33, of Belle about 30 minutes later on Witcher Creek Road. Authorities determined that Miller was driving under the influence of alcohol when the crash occurred.

One victim was a 31-year-old man who suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was treated at the scene, while the other victim, Becky Lynn Martin, 42, of Belle , was taken to Charleston Area Medical Center, where she later died from her injuries. , the deputies said.

Miller was charged with felony DUI causing death, felony leaving the scene of an accident causing death, felony DUI causing bodily injury and felony leaving the scene of an accident causing bodily injury. Deputies said she is being held on a $50,000 cash bond.

Deputies are asking that anyone with surveillance cameras along Witcher Creek Road who may have captured a dark red GMC Yukon during the incident contact KCSO.

Witcher Creek Road was closed for several hours after the crash, but has since reopened.

One person has been arrested following a hit-and-run incident that left one person dead Friday night in Kanawha County, deputies said.

The incident happened just before 6 p.m. along Witcher Creek Road, and after hitting the victim, the suspect allegedly fled the scene, according to the Kanawha County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies were able to locate the suspect and arrest him. They are to be sent to court on Friday evening.

The victim’s name has not been released.

Authorities are searching for a vehicle after a person was struck and killed in a hit-and-run in Kanawha County Friday night, deputies said.

Reports of the incident came in shortly before 6 p.m. in the 1900 block of Witcher Creek Road. One person was struck and the vehicle involved fled the scene, according to the Kanawha County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies said the victim died from his injuries. Their names have not been released.

Authorities are looking for a large brown SUV.

The 1900 block of Witcher Creek Road has since been closed.
