Disappointed rapper Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs was accused of breaking prison rules in an attempt to “corruptly influence” his future trial for sex trafficking by circumventing how his prison calls are monitored, launching a PR strategy and “blackmailing victims”.

The new allegations were made ahead of the rapper’s bail hearing ie scheduled for next week. Prosecutors say Combs should remain in jail until his trial, which is set for May 5, 2025.

According to the court document, while Combs is awaiting trial in Brooklyn’s Metropolitan Detention Center, the rapper allegedly used the phone accounts of “at least eight other inmates” in an attempt to hide his phone calls from prosecutors. Combs allegedly used this tactic to call people not on his approved contact list.

Prosecutors accused the “Act Bad” rapper of “paying off” inmates through apps and deposits into the commissioner’s account.

The opposition also accused the rapper of breaking the rules by instructing his callers — including family and members of his legal team — to “add people” through a three-way call.

“Also, this practice is not authorized by the BOP (Federal Bureau of Prisons) because it helps conceal the identities of those contacted,” the court documents state, according to the publication.

“The defendant’s repeated circumvention of BOP regulations — beginning almost immediately upon arrival at the (Metropolitan Detention Center) — speaks volumes about his ability to comply with any conditions of release.”

In addition to the charges of violating prison rules, prosecutors accused the rapper of launching a public relations strategy while in prison. One example he noted was a recent video his children shared on the rapper’s 55th birthday.

“At the defendant’s careful direction, the defendant’s children posted a video on their social media accounts showing the defendant’s children gathered to celebrate the defendant’s birthday,” prosecutors alleged in the court filing, adding, “this guy of interference with due process. , the defendant’s own words show that he intended to improperly influence the jury in this criminal trial.”

Prosecutors concluded their statement by labeling Combs’ alleged conduct as providing “the clear inference that the defendant’s purpose is to blackmail victims and witnesses either to remain silent or to provide testimony helpful to his defense” and argued that he should not have the right to another bail hearing. .

The rapper is in custody awaiting trial on charges of racketeering, sex trafficking and transportation to engage in prostitution. Combs has pleaded not guilty to the charges.

His legal team has yet to publicly comment on the new allegations.

His trial date is currently set for May 5, 2025.
