The theft took place on Wednesday around 21:01 at a retail store in the Metro Mall Shopping Center. Cuencacisneros, 23, fled as soon as police found him. PD Colma said Cuencacisneros was apprehended after a short chase.

According to Colma police, Cuencacisneros stole approximately $1,314.48 worth of merchandise from the store. It was also determined that Cuencacisneros committed two other burglaries at the same mall within a month, adding to the $880 worth of merchandise he had stolen.

Cuencacisneros was arrested and booked into the San Mateo County Jail for grand theft, resisting a police officer and possession of burglary tools.
