Dubai: Police set up 13 checkpoints to detect modifications to noise-making vehicles – News

Dubai Police has announced the establishment of 13 checkpoints in the emirate to ensure that no modifications have been made to vehicles that could cause noise, X reported on Saturday.

Checkpoints also aim to ensure that any modifications to vehicles do not compromise the safety and comfort of road users and to check their safety.

Dubai Police announced the seizure on Friday 23 vehicles and three motorcycles for loud noises and disturbances in the Al Khawaneej area due to illegal vehicle modifications, authorities said on Friday. These captures occurred within 24 hours.

Major General Saif Muhair Al Mazrouei, Director of the General Traffic Department of Dubai Police, said: “24 traffic fines were issued against offenders; and the fine for releasing an impounded vehicle can go up to Dh10,000 each”.
