Mesa County Sheriff’s Office issues warrant for man accused of sexually exploiting a minor

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KJCT) – The Sheriff’s Department is seeking the public’s help in locating a man wanted for escaping from Community Corrections, where he was serving a sentence related to charges of sexually exploiting a minor.

The Mesa County Sheriff’s Office believes Andrew Franssen, 33, likely works in the food service industry and is staying at a hotel somewhere in Mesa County. He may be using the alias of Andrew Hartley.

He is described as a 283 pound, 5′11″ white male with brown hair and brown eyes by law enforcement.

The sheriff’s office said community corrections is “Not the Mesa County Detention Center or Jail/Department of Corrections. It is an alternative sentence and is considered “in custody” or imprisonment. They are located in a different facility and not run by the sheriff’s office.
