Jake Paul vs Mike Tyson ended in a sad loss for the legend, the result left fans furious.

Paul and Tyson collided in a amazing heavyweight matchupwith over 70,000 fans roaring on in Texas for the biggest and most controversial boxing event of the year.

But it was a sad and difficult watch for boxing fans, with the legend a shadow of him.

The pair embraced with the legend surviving the final bell, but Paul was crowned the winner with the scorecards at 80-72, 79-73 and 79-73 in Paul’s favour.

It was a sad day, with Tyson a shell of his ferocious punching self, with fans furious at how it played out.

They booed in the arena and the reaction was overwhelming online.

One fan wrote: “This is a sad, sad watch. A parody for the sport of boxing”.

Others blamed the Texas Athletic Commission for sanctioning the fight as a professional fight.

One said: “This is why boxing is a dead sport to me.

“60-year-old Mike Tyson shouldn’t be fighting about how the boxing commission allowed this shameful thing to happen.”

Another added: “How the hell did some commission put Mike Tyson through medical for a sanctioned boxing match, it’s sad. Jake Paul gets no glory in this. It’s a shame.”

It was an anticipated event for wrong and right reasons, heavyweight legend Tyson has only fought professionally since 2005.

14oz gloves and eight two-minute rounds were set to take place in Texas in front of a raucous crowd, the vast majority of whom supported boxing icon ‘Iron Mike’.

Tyson put his foot down and marched on his rival from the opening bell, as expected given the potential problems he could face throughout the period.

Paul looked to back off and use his jab with the YouTuber-turned-boxer, who started to find his feet at the end of the first two minutes.

In the second round, Tyson began using a familiar habit of biting his gloves and he certainly looked like a shadow of his normal ferocious self.

It was slower paced, with the rounds hard to score, with the veteran aggressor in short bursts, but Paul was content to box and be patient.

The third period started in a crazy exchange with Tyson throwing some huge shots, but Paul avoided them and withstood them, turning the tide with a triple left hook.

The punches clearly wobbled Tyson, who would naturally have less punch resistance, and it was a sad moment in the contest.

He struggled in the fourth period as he started throwing less regularly and it looked like the legend was already in survival mode.

It was a sad watch with the legend simply unable to put him through his paces and looking worn out and tired with two rounds to go.

Paul dictated the pace and Tyson was breathing extremely hard, nothing left in the tank, no big shock as he trudged back to his corner for the final period.

And it went out and ended without a knockout, while Tyson survived in a boring, monotonous and devastating affair.

It was a gruesome death for Tyson, who beat a YouTuber out of his tape, and Paul seemed to be holding back.

The investigation will continue, but one thing is certain and that is Tyson should be happily retired with his incredible, generational legacy intact.
