It looks like Tennessee Volunteers quarterback Nico Iamaleava will be ready to go against the Georgia Bulldogs.

ESPN’s Chris Low reported that the freshman quarterback will return to the lineup for the team’s Week 12 game against Georgia. He left the team’s Week 11 win over Mississippi State after suffering a head injury and entering the concussion protocol.

Nico Iamaleava is ready to return to the formation as @Vol_Football‘s start QB vs. Georgia Saturday night, ESPN sources say. Iamaleava has been practicing this week, including team periods, after taking a hit to the head and missing the 2nd half of last week’s Miss State win.

He had been listed is questionable for the game, but Low’s report confirms the Volunteers will be operating at full strength for the matchup against their SEC rival.

Iamaleava threw for 1,879 yards with 11 touchdowns and four interceptions as he led Tennessee to an 8-1 start to the season.

The program is currently ranked No. 6 in the College Football Playoff standings and a win over Georgia would be a big boost to the team’s hopes of locking up a spot in the 12-team bracket.

Navigating that game without Iamaleava would have been a tough task, so having him in the center will be huge. The Volunteers haven’t beaten the Bulldogs since 2016 and will need to come into Sanford Stadium to get the win.

The showdown is scheduled to begin at 7:30 pm ET.
