Woman charged with manslaughter after leaving scene of fatal crash in Mountain Brook

MOUNTAIN BROOK, Ala. (WBRC) – A woman was arrested on multiple charges after a fatal crash occurred Oct. 12 in Mountain Brook.

On Saturday, October 12 at 1:30 p.m., Mountain Brook Police say they responded to a vehicle accident with injuries in the 3900 block of Montclair Road. When they arrived, MBP found a single vehicle accident in which the driver of the vehicle, Robert Ashley May, 33, had been ejected. May died at UAB Hospital a short time later.

Authorities initially believed this was a single-vehicle crash, but after interviewing witnesses at the crash scene, it was discovered that a second vehicle was involved and left the scene before officers arrived.

Authorities later determined that the vehicle that left the scene of the crash was traveling at a high rate of speed and reckless driving that contributed to the crash.

After working to identify the driver and the second vehicle, MBP issued arrest warrants and charged Hannah Gray Williams, 30, with culpable homicide and leaving the scene of an accident with injuries .
