Seattle Storm coaching staff under investigation for player abuse allegations

The Seattle Storm coaching staff is under investigation for allegations of player abuse, according to a report Friday night. report from Annie Costabile from Chicago Sun-Times.

“A team-hired law firm is looking into allegations of alleged on-field performance harassment and assault against the coaching staff during the 2024 season,” Costabile wrote.

The Storm, coached by third-year head coach Noelle Quinn, went 25-15 in ’24, but were swept by the Las Vegas Aces in the first round of the WNBA playoffs.

According to Costabile, the investigation “(stems) from incidents that happened in practice and during games” and has been “ongoing for at least two weeks” — the experiences of “several players” prompted it.

Seattle hired Quinn as coach on May 30, 2021. A 12-year WNBA vet born in Los Angeles UCLA product previously played for the team as a point guard from 2013 to ’14 and again from 2016 to ’18.
