Johnson Co. man. convicted of methamphetamine trafficking

JOHNSON COUNTY, Ky. (WYMT) – On Tuesday, U.S. District Judge Robert Wier sentenced Gary Warick, 58, of Hagerhill, to 120 months in prison.

The prison sentence comes after Warick was convicted of conspiracy to distribute 50 grams or more of methamphetamine, distribution of 50 grams or more of methamphetamine, distribution of methamphetamine and possession with intent to distribute 50 grams or more a lot of meth.

Evidence presented at his trial showed that Warick was involved in two controlled purchases of methamphetamine by Johnson County law enforcement. Courts were on April 26, 2022 and again on May 3, 2022.

On May 4, 2022, a search warrant was executed at Warick’s home. More methamphetamine was recovered during the search. In total, more than 130 grams of methamphetamine were collected.

In 2010, Warwick was convicted of trafficking in controlled substances.

Warick must serve 85 percent of his prison term. After he is released, he will serve eight years of probation.
