5th suspect charged in deadly robbery 24 hours after Birmingham mass shooting

A fifth person has been charged in the robbery, shooting death of a 32-year-old man who was killed just 24 hours after a mass shooting outside a Birmingham lounge.

Zachary Alexander Holmes, 31, of Birmingham, is charged with capital murder in the Sept. 22 slaying of Jamarcus McIntyre, according to court records released Friday.

He is also accused of drug trafficking. Charging documents show he was in possession of more than a kilogram of marijuana that Sunday.

Holmes was initially arrested in Los Angeles and has since been returned to Alabama.

They are also charged in McIntyre’s death Ny’Quan Cordae Lollar, 22, Larry Denzel Rollins, Jr., 31, Demarco Nakia Beck Jr., 29, and Damien Laron McDaniel III, 22.

McDaniel is also charged in the mass shootings outside the Hush lounge and in the the killing of a woman in another saloon, which had taken place two days before the south side massacre.

Police say all three homicides may be related, but have not publicly disclosed what linked the deaths.

Lollar is also charged with three counts of attempted murder, trafficking in drugs, including fentanyl, and possession of marijuana.

rollins, previously acquitted in an unrelated homicide, he is also accused of heroin trafficking.

McIntyre died in a shooting that Sunday night in the 700 block of 81st Place South. Two other people were also injured and the third escaped injury.

His killing was caught on home surveillance video.

The chilling footage showed McIntyre and three others exiting a house and walking towards a car on the street. At least three suspects then jumped out of a car parked across the street and shot McIntyre, taking his backpack.

Authorities have not said what was in that backpack.
