A man was arrested after police say he stabbed another man in the leg and assaulted a woman at a home in the 1500 block of 3rd Street in Altoona Friday night.

According to the Altoona Police Department in a Facebook post, officers were dispatched to the home just after 6:15 p.m. for reports of a stabbing incident.

Police said officers found a male victim with a stab wound to the leg at the intersection of 3rd Street and Walnut Avenue, who was taken to UPMC Altoona for treatment.

Officers said they made contact with a female victim at the residence who told them a man, identified as Christopher Thomas, had come to the home to talk to her about a property exchange shortly before the call to 911.

According to police, after a brief conversation at the front door, Thomas entered the residence and began punching the woman in the face multiple times.

The Altoona Police Department said Thomas then walked over to the male victim, who was sitting in a chair in another room, and began punching him several times in the face before pulling out a knife and stabbing him in the face. leg before leaving the residence.

Police said in the post that Thomas was later found to be staying at a halfway house in the Coalport area of ​​Clearfield County and was taken into custody early Saturday morning.

The Blair County Sheriff’s Department, Logan Township Police Department and Pennsylvania State Police also assisted in the investigation, according to police.

Thomas faces multiple charges, including aggravated assault and possession of an instrument of crime.

He is being held at the Blair County Jail on $150,000 bond.
