Vinicius Junior reacts furiously as the Arsenal star is involved in a red card incident during the Brazil draw

Arsenal have several players in and around the Brazil national team where they play alongside some real superstars.

Defender Gabriel Magalhaes it started when Brazil drew 1-1 with Venezuela in a World Cup qualifier and the centre-back is becoming an important player for his country.

The Brazilian press evaluated Gabriel’s performance as a strong one, but highlighted the difference in the bravery of his passing compared to how he plays for Arsenal.

to Gabriel Jesus the struggles meant he was missing from the last team, but Gabriel Martinelli he was included and came off the bench against Venezuela.

Martinelli was only on the pitch for 10 minutes, but that was enough time to get involved in the chaos that followed, and Real Madrid superstar Vinicius Junior had to jump to the defence.

Vinicius Junior defends Arsenal star Gabriel Martinelli after Venezuela’s brutal red card

In the final minutes of the 90th, Martinelli picked up the ball and began to dribble on the wing, but Venezuela defender Alexander Gonzalez flew in and struck Arsenal attacker with a dangerous elbow.

Vinicius Jr was disgusted by Gonzalez for what he did to Martinelli and quickly rushed to his defense before going to the ground claiming he too had been elbowed.

Gonzalez was shown a straight red card but, amazingly, Martinelli was also booked for his part in the brawl, despite the full-back being brutally fouled.

Martinelli was otherwise brilliant in his brief appearance but could not help Brazil record a win in difficult circumstances in Venezuela.

Gabriel Martinelli’s role for Brazil

Despite his struggles for consistent form with Arsenal, Martinelli has been selected in a Brazil squad with the likes of Vinicius, Raphinha and Savinho in his position.

Martinelli has now made 15 caps for Brazil, but only four of those have come from the start, with the Arsenal striker considered a bench option and the potential return of Neymar only set to make the competition even fiercer.

Many Fans believe Martinelli should be benched for Arsenal on his recent poor form, but there is still hope that the 23-year-old can rediscover his confidence to find his best form, and his last game saw him away to Chelsea on an encouraging note.
