PITTSBURGH — A loose horse wandering through a city neighborhood was safely returned to its owners Tuesday after being cornered by police officers.

The Pittsburgh Bureau of Police reported that officers from Area 1 responded to the area of ​​Brighton Road and Harbison Avenue around 1:30 p.m. following reports of an escaped horse.

Officers quickly located the animal and were able to secure it safely without incident. The horse, described as calm and cooperative, was offered carrots as officers worked to ensure its safe return.

The horse was reunited with its owners shortly after it was found and returned to its stables. Police did not provide details on how the horse escaped, but noted that no injuries or damage were reported during the incident.
