Two bail bondsmen re-arrested in Nashville, facing new charges

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) – Two men who were reportedly out on bond are now facing a slew of new charges following their arrest Wednesday night, according to the Metro Nashville Police Department.

MNPD reported that Acuma Juma, 23, had been released on $70,000 bond since his October arrest on gun and marijuana charges when he was allegedly found driving a stolen car with a fully automatic pistol modified under the seat.

Juma was also allegedly found to be carrying a bag full of oxycodone pills and over $2,200. MNPD said inside the stolen Infiniti Q50 was a backpack containing several pills, crystal meth, cocaine and crack cocaine. He is now being held in lieu of $192,000 bail on multiple theft, drug and weapons charges.

MNPD said Juma’s passenger, Deng Akok, 24, was free on $23,000 bond stemming from his October arrest on felony cocaine and gun charges. Akok is now jailed on $157,000 bail on new charges of vehicle theft, multiple drug counts and trespassing.

“The arrests of Juma and Akok occurred while vehicular crime detectives were monitoring a stolen Nissan Maxima parked at a Hobson Pike apartment complex,” MNPD explained. “Juma and Akok arrived in the stolen Infiniti, after which the driver of the Maxima, Samuel Andrew, 24, left the car and joined them.”

Shortly after, officers arrested the trio. Andrew is charged with two counts of vehicle theft, drug possession and criminal trespass. His bond is set at $38,000.
