Mike Tyson and Jake Paul have officially weighed in ahead of their highly anticipated boxing match, but it’s the slap heard around the world that has everyone talking.

Tyson, 58, once the undisputed heavyweight champion of the world from 1987-1990, weighed 228.4 pounds. Paul, 27, a social media star who has won 10 of 11 professional boxing bouts, weighed 227.2 pounds.

During their time, Tyson quickly slapped Paul, triggering a mob that pulled the former champion back and separated the two.

Combat sports journalist Ariel Helwani tried to get both fighters on hand afterward (25-second mark).

All Tyson said was “the discussion is over” before walking off the stage. Helwani soon gave himself a first-hand perspective.

Paul did a little meditation as Tyson was pulled away.

However, Paul was very offended by the slap. He said he didn’t physically hurt him, but that the fight was personal, to the point where he yelled that Tyson “must die” now in the ring.

Paul also changed his Instagram profile picture to that of comedian Chris Rock, who was slapped by actor Will Smith at the 2022 Oscars.

Paul also added this remark.

After the weigh-in and slap, fans and analysts offered their reactions to Tyson vs. Paul, which was the last major event for the fighters this week before they face off on Friday.

Thursday’s weigh-in took place at the Toyota Music Factory in Irving, Texas. It also featured weigh-ins from the other six fights on the card, including champion Katie Taylor defending her undisputed women’s flyweight title in a rematch against Amanda Serrano.

But now all that’s left is boxing.

Tyson won 50 professional bouts during his 20-year career and was once 37-0 with 33 knockouts. He has not fought professionally since 2005.

Paul, who has seven KOs, has beaten some big names, including former MMA stars Anderson Silva, Nate Diaz and Tyron Woodley (twice).

They will square off to cap the main card, which begins at 8:00 PM ET on Friday at AT&T Stadium, home of the Dallas Cowboys.
