TN teacher accused, suspended after allegedly threatening 14 students

CROSSVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) – A Tennessee teacher is facing charges and suspension by a school board. He allegedly threatened about 14 students on Wednesday, according to the Crossville Police Department.

CPD alleges James Green, 56, of Cookeville, made threats toward the students and was later arrested and charged with reckless endangerment.

Around 8 a.m. Thursday, a parent of a student at Stone Memorial High School reported to a school resource officer that Green had threatened a classroom full of students the day before. The SRO contacted Crossville Police Department investigators to look into the reported threat.

CPD reports that approximately 14 students were in the classroom at the time of the threat and no injuries were reported. The Cumberland County School Board took action against Green, suspending him from his job and barring him from all school system property.

“The school system will continue to work with local law enforcement to provide safe schools in Cumberland County,” CPD said.
