PARIS, November 15. /TASS/. Fans clashed in the stands at the Stade de France stadium in Paris during the first half of the France vs Israel UEFA Nations League soccer match, L’Equipe the newspaper wrote.

According to the report, the brawl started about 20 minutes into the game and involved dozens of fans. Some of them were waving Israeli flags. Stewards had to step in to restore order.

French President Emmanuel Macron attended the match. Before the event, politicians and left-wing activists staged a protest in a square in the northern Paris suburb of Saint-Denis.

The match comes a week after a Europa League match with Maccabi Tel Aviv Football Club wreaked havoc in Amsterdam.

On the night of November 8, at least 10 Israelis were injured in an attack by Palestinian supporters in Amsterdam, according to Israel’s Ynet news website. The incident took place outside the stadium following the UEFA Europa League match between local football club Ajax and Maccabi Tel Aviv (5-0). At least five fans were stabbed and some were hit by a passing car.
