A woman was seriously injured after a shooting southwest of Drayton Valley Saturday night.

RCMP responded to reports of shots fired at Brazeau Dam.

When police arrived just before midnight, they found the woman suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.

She was taken to the University of Alberta Hospital, where police said she was in critical but stable condition.

A man was arrested without incident at the scene of the shooting.

The 43-year-old Edmonton man faces multiple charges, including attempted murder.
