CUMBERLAND COUNTY, NC (WTVD) — Man faces attempted murder charges in connection with shooting that sent two people to hospital Cumberland County.

At 1:35 a.m., deputies were patrolling Gillespie Street when they heard gunshots. That’s when Cumberland County Emergency Communications began receiving calls about a shooting that had occurred on Gillespie St.

As a deputy approached the area, Bradley Raymond Donahue, 41, ran to the deputy’s car and attempted to enter. He then tried to escape on foot but was taken into custody.

The Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office said a man and a woman were shot. The two were taken to hospital for treatment of their injuries.

Donahue was charged with three counts of attempted murder, two counts of assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury with intent to kill, and two counts of discharging a firearm into occupied property that caused serious injury.
