Teddi Mellencamp is ‘scared’ of what her estranged husband Edwin Arroyave will do to ‘look good’ after her alleged affair with a horse trainer caused their separation.

Arroyave is “determined to come out on top in this divorce,” a source said said The US Sun Wednesday.

“He wants to look good and he wants to keep custody of the kids, so he’s willing to do whatever it takes to make that happen.”

The source claimed that the former “Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” star, 43, is “embarrassed that it’s gotten to this point and has become more and more afraid of what he’s willing to do.”

“Her support from her friends, especially Kyle Richards, helped her navigate this mess,” the insider added. “If it wasn’t for the support of her friends and her love for her children, I’m not sure what Teddi would be doing.”

The source also said Mellencamp continues to prioritize the “well-being” of their children amid the public split. The former couple share daughters Slate, 12, and Dove, 4, and son Cruz, 10.

“She hates (the kids) being dragged through this and hates it even more with how public it’s become so protecting her kids from all this negativity is her top priority,” the insider said.

“Because of that, she’s really disappointed that Edwin can’t have the same grace towards her.”

However, a source told Us that “there is no truth to the report that Edwin is trying to take Teddi down.”

“He always wanted to keep this matter amicable for the whole family,” the insider added.

Representatives for Mellencamp and Arroyave could not immediately be reached for comment.

Just yesterday, Page Six revealed that Mellencamp was he allegedly cheated on Arroyave with one of her longtime friends and horse trainerSimon Schroeder.

Insiders tell us that Mellencamp and Schroeder began their alleged affair in May and later traveled to Florida together for an equestrian event while his wife, Karli Postel, was giving birth to their second child in California.

“Karli thought it was suspicious that her husband was in Florida when she was giving birth,” a source told the Daily Mail on Wednesday.

Postel allegedly discovered the affair when he saw inappropriate text messages between Schroeder and Mellencamp upon their return to California.

“They confessed. Teddi promised it wouldn’t happen again,’ the Daily Mail source said, adding that ‘Karli didn’t tell Edwin when she found out’ because she was ‘willing to give Simon another chance.’

However, that changed last month after Postel found out the alleged affair had continued and became “emotional”.

Postel later told Arroyave about the situation, and Mellencamp filed for divorce shortly after.

“She filed for a divorce from Edwin so he wouldn’t have the chance to sue her for adultery,” the Daily Mail source said. “It was assumed that the marriage ended because Edwin cheated on Teddi, but it’s actually the other way around.”

The “Two Ts in a Pod” co-host initially stunned Bravo fans when she filed for divorce from Arroyave on November 1. He too they filed for divorce a week later and asked them to honor their prenuptial agreement.

Mellencamp originally announced the divorce in an Instagram post on Nov. 2.
