OU football OL in medical tent vs. Ole Miss

OXFORD, Miss — OU football starting left tackle Jacob Sexton is fighting through an injury.

After injuring his left ankle early in the second quarter Saturday against Ole MissSexton stepped into the medical tent on the sidelines. Freshman Logan Howland replaced Sexton at left tackle and immediately allowed a sack.

Earlier Athletic trainers taped Sexton’s ankle, and he returned to play on the next drive, according to OU’s internal radio. Minutes after returning, Sexton appeared to injure himself again, hitting the ground and staying down for several minutes.

Sexton left the medical tent late in the second quarter and is on the sideline with an ice pack on his right knee. It appears that Howland will start at left tackle for the rest of the contest.

Offensive lineman Jake Taylor did not make the trip, although he was not listed on the SEC availability report.

OU leads Mississippi 10-7 with 2:47 left until halftime.
