OCALA, Fla. (WCJB) – A man is dead after a car crash Friday night in Marion County.

The Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) said it happened around 8 p.m

The victim, a 36-year-old Fort McCoy man, was driving an unregistered motorcycle south on County Road 315 near Northeast 225th Place without his lights on.

The other driver was in a pickup truck, and according to the news release, they did not see the driver, who was not wearing a helmet.

The truck hit the victim from behind, pushing him into a ditch.

FHP Cpl. R. Crawford is the lead homicide investigator on the case.
