A two-car collision at a Sherburne County intersection Wednesday morning left one driver dead and the other injured, officials said.

The crash happened around 7:40 a.m. in Big Lake Township on Hwy. 10 and NW. 172nd Street, the State Patrol said.

A westbound Ford Fusion driven by a 25-year-old Elk River man collided in the intersection with a Nissan Altima with a 40-year-old Big Lake man behind the wheel, the patrol said.

Both drivers were hospitalized. The woman died and the man suffered minor injuries, according to the patrol. Their identity has not yet been revealed.
