Nalgonda: In a shocking incident, an ASI, identified as Koti Singh, allegedly assaulted a farmer, Muthyalu, in full view of his family and the general public in Munugode Mandal of Nalgonda District.

Called to the police station in connection with a land dispute, Muthyalu allegedly asked for time to complete his work at the farm where he was halfway, but the police personnel did not respond positively. Muthyalu alleged that ASI Koti Singh, influenced by neighboring farmer Raja Bhaskar, beat him up even though it was unnecessary. The ASI allegedly visited the disputed site and verbally abused him before physically assaulting him.

Following the incident, Muthyalu lodged a complaint with the superintendent of police, the sub-divisional police and the local inspector, demanding the immediate suspension of the ASI. Sub-Inspector Chanda Venkateswarlu confirmed that a report on the incident has been sent to the Sub-Divisional Police Officer and action is awaited.

The incident sparked outrage among the local community and raised concerns about police conduct and the handling of civil cases.
