An Auburn man has been sentenced to six years in state prison after admitting to a violent robbery in Cayuga County.

Darryl Jones, 59, was sentenced Tuesday on multiple felony charges, including criminal possession of a weapon, assault and first-degree robbery.

His sentence includes five years of post-release supervision.

The incident occurred in August 2023, when Jones and a co-defendant, Michael Barski, attacked a visitor to an Orchard Street apartment. He held a gun to the victim’s head, demanding cash and a cell phone. Barski restrained the victim in a headlock while Jones attacked them with a metal baton.
