Gardai are investigating the theft of a car in Moville which was later involved in a road traffic accident.

The car, a silver Renault Fluence with a partial registration of ’11 DL 17′, was taken from Crawford Square at around 11pm last Wednesday.

The stolen car was driven towards Gleneely where it was involved in a minor collision.

He immediately left the scene and traveled in the direction of Carndonagh.

The stolen car, which had been damaged at the front, was then located on Saturday November 9 at 9.30pm in the Ballynally area of ​​Moville.

Gardaí are appealing for any sightings of the car at this time.

A spokesman said: “We are appealing to anyone who may have noticed suspicious activity in or around Moville on the night of Wednesday November 6 to contact us. If anyone was in the Crawford Square area or Moville between 10:00pm and 11:15pm with a dash cam, please contact us.

“We are particularly interested in any sightings or dashcam footage of two men who are believed to have been in the area of ​​Quay Street, Moville, on November 6 at approx. 10:50 p.m. One was wearing a gray hoodie and the other was wearing a black hoodie.

“If anyone traveled in any of the areas mentioned (Moville – Gleneely – Carndonagh) with a dash cam between 11pm and midnight on Wednesday 6th November, we are asking them to contact us. If anyone can assist with relevant information, they are asked to contact Gardaí in Buncrana on 074-9320540.”
