Martin Odegaard breaks his silence on Norway’s appeal

There was much confusion about the status Arsenal star Martin Odegaard in recent days as the captain works his way back to full fitness.

The midfielder returned to Premier League action against Chelsea last time out, recovering from an ankle injury that sidelined him for months.

His return came as a huge boost, though what followed was a call to Norway for Odegaard this scared some fans, causing them to think of a potential injury.

While he was handed a late call-up, it has since been overturned and the playmaker is set to stay at Arsenal for the rest of the break.

“I have to listen to my body, finish this rehab and get my leg back in shape,” Odegaard said in reports following the decision.

It comes as a huge boost for the Gunners, who will now be hoping he can get back to the top flight.

Arsenal eye Randal Kolo Muani January transfer

As the January transfer window approaches, Arsenal could be looking to make some big changes to boost their Premier League title hunt.

The Gunners have visibly struggled to get going during the campaign as injuries, suspensions and overall performance let them down.

With plenty of points to recover, the transfer window could help them solve their centre-forward problem.

So with that in mind, Arsenal Insider have been told Arsenal are considering a January loan move for Paris Saint-Germain forward Randal Kolo Muani to bolster their ranks.

Mark Schwarzer questions Victor Osimhen’s Arsenal position

Another centre-forward linked with a move to Arsenal was Victor Osimhenwho was open to leave Naples during the summer.

The Gunners have avoided making a move for the striker, who has instead gone on loan to Galatasaray.

He has since impressed in Turkey and could yet make a move to Emirates Stadiumconsidering the troubles before.

The decision not to land Osimhen in the summer was one that baffled former goalkeeper Mark Schwarzer, who questioned the decision on The Optus Sport Football Podcast.

“The only player (to miss Arsenal) for me was Victor Osimhen,” he said. “His numbers are crazy … He’s a monster. A proper old school number nine with flair, pace and an eye for goal.”
